Using AV & Tech to Encourage Visitors to Engage

with your Brand

Alongside lighting technology, AV at exhibitions is a crucial element for your exhibition to stand out these days from your competition, and for customers to interact effectively with your brand whilst providing digital signage for your key communication messages or hero products for any show.

In a continuously advancing modern environment filled with technology and exciting features, it seems almost obvious to include quality AV (audio visual equipment) & lighting into your booth in some form. As a result, it will transform your display and undoubtedly draw visitors to your space as a point of interest, and ideally keep them there.

If you can also incorporate immersive technology as well as your products, showcasing quality content, it will naturally prolong how long visitors spend on your stand whilst also creating a buzz, and therefore, you’re more likely to create the foundations to start a long-lasting business relationship.

What is AV Equipment?

Audio Visual equipment can range from presentation visual aids, such as projectors, plasma LCD screens, video walls, 4k HD screens, and touch screens to sound components from microphones and speakers supplying surround sound. You can also consider interactive elements such as virtual reality equipment or interactive games.

AV rental can seem expensive, but when you factor in the delivery, flight cases, installation, and technical & testing support that is included, it is easier to see the value. If you are doing a programme of shows it can sometimes be more economical to purchase the AV, and even the furniture too so do not discount these options.

How do you stand out on your booth?

Delivering amazing clear video content is a must at any live event, and the use of ultra hi-resolution LED screens can cause a massive impact, grabbing the attention of your audience in an instant is what makes a difference to the success of your event.

Why are LED Video Walls the perfect tool for exhibitions?

Video marketing and moving content are progressively being used instead of marketing with only photos and static images. This also applies to your exhibition stand. At trade fairs, everything and everyone is crying out for attention. It is therefore definitely difficult to get and keep the attention of visitors. Just showing a logo or your product at your stand is not enough.

Video walls are composed of modular boards that connect to make bigger screens. The diameter and distance of each LED affect its resolution and determine the sharpness of the image. The walls need a solid wall for bracketing; the screens are placed on them. LED walls also offer an excellent surface and are seamless. For a professional finish, it can be a little easier for you to recess the wall.

There are some different options to consider:

Indoor LED: can be used within an exhibition stand, event space or even to create a completely interactive conference backdrop by using LED as the focal point. One of the most common indoor LED products has a pixel pitch of just 3.9mm so the picture stays sharp even from a short distance, making it ideal for an event setting where visitors are often found near the screen. This type of equipment can be used to display branded content, videos, presentations, and images.

Outdoor LED: can be used for several different applications including live concerts, sporting events, and secret cinema. For outdoor LED products look for a pixel pitch of just 5.9mm so the picture stays sharp making it ideal for an event setting where visitors are often found further away from the screen. You can build these screens with a series of tiles, the LED can be assembled to build large video walls of any size, used to display movies, videos, presentations, and images.

Mobile LED: Known for being easy and quick to install, the mobile LED screen makes outside broadcasts far simpler than you thought were possible. One of the advantages of this type of screen is that it is completely self-contained, so you’re not tied to operating only where you can reach power, etc.

How else can you immerse customers once they reach your stand?

VR Stations

Virtual Reality (VR) Stations allow brands to experience virtual reality in their storytelling. They require a powerful PC to run the software, sensors for aligning your positioning, and controllers to control the movement in VR software. For maximum profit from VR stations brands can use standard apps, or create customised applications to maximise the user experience and product proposition. Do make sure there is enough space on the stand for the user's movement to avoid any accidents if moving around!

Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) is the perfect solution for brands looking to create virtual event experiences for audiences at scale or multiple events as a way of getting your brand, product, or service directly in front of your audience even if you can’t physically be there.

From recreating interactive 3D exhibition stands to creating unique virtual product demos and presentations, AR enables exhibitors and event organisers to take their event experience directly to audiences, wherever they are, and at any time.

Touchscreens

This is a screen accessed by a user's hand to control the content as its viewed. This kind of communication allows the user to talk personally to your customers. Aside from the screen it usually requires an operating system for a small laptop that runs the screen and will work the same as a desktop machine. Instead of a mouse, you can simply click on the screen.

Gamification

Gamification refers to implementing typical gaming elements in other activities such as marketing. In context with events, gamification can enable you to build relationships with your audience and engage with them in a more meaningful way and can create a light atmosphere where attendees can learn more about your brand and offerings and make purchase decisions while having fun doing so.

Don't forget some important areas to consider when thinking about investing or renting technology.

Work to Your Budget:

If you wish to hire AV equipment, it is important to have a clear idea about how much you can afford to spend. It is advisable to make a budget beforehand as your budget will guide you to select the proper equipment that you need at the right price.

Compatibility:

You need to make sure that the AV equipment is compatible with any operating system. A laptop or desktop system is not enough to run AV equipment. Many brands make complete systems, which include input and output devices, processors, monitors, and CPUs. Before you choose any system, ensure that the components work well together and that they are compatible with each other.
