Simba Sleep
Simba Sleep is a British online mattress group that was founded in 2016. They manufacture and sell mattresses, bedding, and other sleep products in several countries, including the UK, Canada and China. Simba are proudly known to be the most 5-star rated mattress brand in the World. They have recently developed a range of Simba Contract Mattresses to meet the demands of the hospitality sector and have worked with Tecna to launch these at two exhibitions in 2023.

Getting in Touch
Simba contacted us through our webform, looking for an exhibition stand design and build service for an upcoming show. Interested in our T3 modular framework and our focus on sustainability, they had a call with our Sales Manager Kayleigh, who created a mood board based on their current branding and graphics for their mattress products. A core inspiration for the stand was the foliage and floating bed in their brand graphics, which were brought to life in their exhibition stand.
The Design
After building an understanding of Simba’s exhibition goals, our sales, project management and design team got creative. With their next event being IHS, the inspiration revolved around creating a breathable, calm space that captures the quality of the product and emulates a luxury hotel room.
A big priority for Simba was to create a multi-function space with maximum impact. To make this a reality, our team added a gantry into the design to create some height and visibility of their brand, as well as breaking up the space for multi-use opportunities. Under the gantry a relaxed meeting space was introduced. The gantry was also a strategic choice to be able to showcase 2 mattress displays at different levels in the space, with a TV playing their branded video. To further make an impact, we created 3D backlit signs of their logo to place on the walls of their stand. This was a great feature to draw the eye and increase brand awareness from across the venue.
The mattress bases were created to emulate the floating bed foliage in their graphics to amplify their company voice and promote their sustainability conscious mentality. Our team ensured that the construction of the base was load baring so that the product could be trialled safely at the exhibition. One of our favourite parts of designing exhibition stands is working together with the client to make their vision come to life. Above the mattresses Simba personally requested wooden panels they had sourced to be included in the design, which we were happy to accommodate.

Seeing the Results
When the exhibition stand design was complete, a pre-build was organised to check for any issues or concerns before the show. This is something Tecna UK provide to all clients, so they have the piece of mind knowing that risk has been reduced from their stand build. We even invite the client to attend the pre-build so they can see the quality of our work with complete transparency. Simba Sleep came to Tecna HQ to look at the pre-build, and all was approved for IHS.
Following from the success of their participation at the Independent Hotel Show Simba rebooked with us for HIX, with a different configuration to support their space dimensions and are also talking to us about other brand activations.
