Tecna UK Gets Behind Local Company for Charity Raffle

Love for the Local Community

This month Tecna UK was approached by LOMA SYSTEMS® – a fellow local company who has a T3 display – to contribute a prize to their upcoming charity raffle. With community and family central to our ethos, we felt this was an excellent opportunity to contribute to the local community, so we were delighted to give a donation – particularly for such a worthy cause.

Who is Loma?

Established in 1969, Loma designs, manufactures and supports inspection equipment used to identify contaminants and product defects within the food, packaging and pharmaceutical industries, principally offering Metal Detectors, Checkweighers and X-Ray Inspection Systems. Loma is a global player in this market, but it was the head office in Farnborough that reached out to Tecna UK.

What is the charity?

Their annual raffle, held this year on 13 September, was aimed at raising money for a charity that not only fights for a deeply important cause but also holds personal significance to a member of Loma’s Farnborough team; their selected charity was the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and it was Loma’s Global Marketing Manager, Toby Kemp, from whom the dedication to fundraise for JDRF stemmed; Toby’s daughter was unfortunately diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in 2017.

The Tecna UK team were more than happy to help JDRF and the Loma team out, and Tecna UK’s Andrew Kennedy and Neil Brown handed over the 55” TV personally, which went to raffle alongside a number of other donations from different contributors, including the likes of BMW and Reading Football Club.

A Successful Occasion

Overall, the raffle garnered lots of attention and raised over £1200 for JDRF, with a few lucky attendees snagging the top prizes.  Several of the Tecna UK team members also made a personal contribution to the event by buying some of the raffle tickets, with one ending up a winner: Mike Arnot is now the proud owner of a signed Reading FC football shirt. We were thrilled to have been able to make a significant contribution to Loma’s charity event, and a big thanks to Loma for letting us be a part of it.
