Sim’s Training Progress

A Rocky Start

It has been a rocky start for Sim; after a snowboarding holiday, he tore a muscle in his leg and has been on a steady road to recovery since. However, despite this setback, he is determined and has got back on his bike and stuck into training. So far, Sim has managed to do a few moderate training sessions, but he is certain that as his leg continues to recover, he’ll be riding more and more with each passing day.

Backed all the way.

Sim certainly has Neil’s vote of confidence, who has no doubt in his mind that Sim will power his way to the finish line on the day. “Sim is fearless, and he’s like lightning downhill. I know he’ll do great, because when he is committed to raising money for a good cause, nothing will stand in his way.” Neil adds, “if he puts his mind to something, he will do it.”

Neil Brown’s Training

Neil started his training back in March, which he had been postponing due to injury. “It was tough getting back into training because I was a bit out of practice. However, once I got going, I started to gain momentum”.

A Whole Lot of Cycling

In April, Neil cycled a total of 275 miles, which jumped to 530 miles in May!  In June, Neil took part in another 75-mile charity ride in Cheltenham to raise money for Sue Ryder Cancer Hospice – completed in just over four hours – which has also been great practice in preparation for the race up ahead.

Neil will be finishing off his training during a two-week trip to Spain, just outside of Valencia, before resting and gathering his energy for the big day.

As dedicated fundraisers and fierce competitors, the race is on to see which of the two will get to the finish line first. Let’s keep them motivated and donate to two incredibly important causes. Who are you rooting for?
