Crystal Vision Ltd

Crystal Vision were amazed with Tecna's solutions, when revamping their current design!

Crystal Vision

The Client

Crystal Vision is a manufacturing company who design and manufacture innovative products for the broadcast industry. Founded in Cambridge in 1996, Crystal Vision is continuously providing industry leading solutions for processing signals within broadcast facilities. After many years of using T3, Crystal Vision began to think it was outgrowing the capabilities of T3, it was time for Tecna UK to prove that T3 was capable of so much more! Speaking to one of Crystal Vision’s Product Managers, Andrew King, we find out how T3 has evolved over the years to create the standout display solutions Crystal Vision creates today.

Crystal Vision

Having Total Control

Before working with T3, Crystal Vision was working with custom builds; hiring installers to build their displays. Unfortunately, using booth builders became an inconvenience for Crystal Vision when they had to get their equipment up and running before the show started,

“we used to turn up and they’d still be building the stand, so we had to work around them to get the equipment set up in time.”Back in 2005 that Crystal Vision decided that they needed a change,

“our desire was to move away from single use, expensive booths, to a system that we could store and assemble by ourselves. This was when we were introduced to the T3 system by a design company who were using the system. We now have total control over the speed and ease of build; T3 goes up easily and works around our requirements!”
“The cost saving has been immense compared to our previous booths constructed by stand builders! Modifications to the design are also straight forward, with a range of different T3 components available.

Reutilising an Extensive Stock of T3 Components

Over time, the T3 system has adapted and changed to meet the demands of the industry. This includes modifying components, like our bayonets, to be able to fit a whole new array of fixings and products to our beams. T3’s durability proved successful many times to Crystal Vision after using their kit repeatedly, but it was when Crystal Vision researched into additional T3 components that they decided to get in touch with Tecna UK.

“Some of the Tecna UK team came to visit us when we were experiencing problems with our existing T3 kit. At the time we didn’t realise we were using a range of old beams with different end caps! The team helped us and now we are using new end caps and connectors, whilst also re-utilising where possible our existing stock of T3 components.”

Tecna UK also demonstrated the possibilities of what is achievable with T3, “we thought we were outgrowing the capabilities of T3. So, we were delighted when a range of cost-effective solutions were demonstrated to us by some of the team!”

“Our new booth looks so much better. This was largely thanks to the lightbox walls and fabric graphics which we used to replace individual rigid graphic panels.”

Changing Up T3 Designs

Crystal Vision has become well acquainted with using T3 over years, reusing and reconfiguring their kit and switching up the graphics to complement new products available. But sometimes partners are not aware of how far T3 can be pushed creatively to achieve a vast range of requirements.

“Since teaming up with Tecna UK, we were amazed by how much more was achievable in booth design using the T3 system. When presenting our ideas, we were shown a solution for every problem when trying to incorporate our existing components into a transformed, innovative new booth.”
“Our new booth looks so much better. This was largely thanks to the lightbox walls and fabric graphics which we used to replace individual rigid graphic panels.
Working with Tecna UK has allowed us to inject a new lease of life into our T3 booth design. It now looks modern, the light box walls and fabric graphics look fantastic, and we have a much-improved solution for hanging big TVs on the walls, something we have always been wary of!”

A Design Ready to Impress

Building T3 is one of the easiest processes of exhibiting for Crystal Vision; just by reusing the kit and tweaking the layout to fit within new spaces. Most recently replaced in 2019, Crystal Vision stood out at the International Broadcasting Convention, when its booth was at the very front of the main halls, “we received many compliments from new customers visiting our booth for the first time, as well as existing customers who remember what our old booth looked like.”

“Networking at shows is completely different now and we are attracting many newer faces onto our booth. T3 is a cost-effective way to construct a quality looking booth, completely set up with our equipment in less than two days! And what’s more, it breaks down easily into flight cases for us to store in our offices in Cambridge.”

Full Turnkey Solution Support

With standout lightboxes and imposing integration of fabric graphics, we’re impressed with the displays Crystal Vision is now creating. And for Andrew, Tecna UK’s full turnkey solution was one of the many factors that made this partnership a great one, “everyone we worked with at Tecna UK was great, from the sales and design guys showing us the ideas and solutions, to the mechanical assembly guys who walked us through the build-up and break-down instructions.” We’re excited going forward to see how Crystal Vision continues to use T3 to push their creative design impressions.
