Case Studies > Elite GraphixAn elite exhibition extravaganza...Jason Chappell, Director of Coventry-based Elite Graphix prides himself with handling every aspect of large format printing imaginable; flexibility in all areas of their business is vital which is why, when they found the T3 Airframe modular system at Sign UK a couple of years ago, they knew it would complement their business perfectly. Joining forces with another business partner earlier this year enabled Jason to focus predominantly on the exhibition side of the business, which includes everything from design, set-up and build to exhibition graphics and breakdown. Jason’s background, with his many years in the exhibition industry both here and in Europe, is "old-school’ – traditionally working with wood and paint as basic materials for build - and has seen modular technology come and go, but none in his opinion has evolved to the level of T3 Airframe. He explains, "The materials traditionally used in stand building over the years have varied, but you have always needed experienced joiners and carpenters on and off-site to do the build and when worked into the overall price of the customer’s job, this of course pushes up the cost and as a result, profits would be hit. When I saw the T3 Airframe system I couldn’t believe that such a seamless finish wasn’t custom built, didn’t need skilled labour onsite for the build and furthermore didn’t even need any tools!!!" By switching to the Tecna T3 Airframe system for the majority of the exhibition work over the last 18 months, not only have Elite saved on labour, they have opened up a myriad of other sales opportunities too – Including point of sale units, small conference sets, light walls, etc. The system provides an almost limitless number of design options that has a longer life expectancy than many other modular displays, and of course T3 Airframe can be reconfigured and re-used saving expensive material costs. Elite can now offer exceptionally quick turnarounds on stunning display and exhibition stands. T3 Airframe allows any large format digital printer to break into the exhibition market above the usual pop up and modular systems creating a stunning, custom-look stand in a fraction of the time and cost of a custom-built stand. "Using conventional build methods and materials means transportation is also a headache in more ways than one. The T3 system, being modular, has been designed to fold down to keep storage and transportation down to a minimum – in fact two stands we have just recently completed in Germany collapsed down into one large and one small crate that would easily fit into a small van." Of course using less transport and employing a re-usable system has huge benefits in reducing the impact a stand has on the environment, an issue that is very close to everyone’s hearts! Elite Graphix discovered that T3 Airframe removes the predisposed idea that to exhibit on a budget equals a small, square, bland stand and that modular systems are inflexible and limited in design. Elite Graphix have found that their customers are always impressed. "Restrictions on style are blown out of the water; there are so many things you can incorporate into the structures, from a standard backlit square to whole illuminated floors and walls. Functionality is added by simply adjusting the fixtures to add plasma displays, LCD displays, shelving, etc " Jason adds. Incorporating all the advances in digital imaging we are moving into an era where some of the most amazing-looking stands are not custom-built exhibitions stands using stock walling, but can be constructed using T3 Airframe and a substrate of your choice, from fabric to wood. |
